On the latest episode of Mnet’s ‘Beatles Code Season 2’ the members of Boyfriend were questioned about their previous dating experiences. At first only leader Donghyun was willing to reveal having ever been in a relationship, but after love expert and fellow guest of the show Moon Hee Jun claimed some members’ glances spoke otherwise, Minwoo, Youngmin and Jeongmin also confessed to having dated in the past.
The MCs of ‘Beatles Code’ were in disbelief when only Donghyun was
forthcoming about his past dating experience.
“It’s hard. Meeting girls is not an easy thing,” member Kwangmin tried to explain, but the MCs couldn’t disagree more, “The easiest things in the world are meeting girls and fraud.” Boyfriend’s members found this hilarious but still refused to admit anything.
Moon Hee Jun was then asked, “As a senior, looking at them, do you get the feeling that some of them are hiding something?”
He did, asking the member he felt had the most relationship experience, “Jeongmin, why are you like this?”
Jeongmin laughed at this, proving Hee Jun’s instincts to be right and causing leader Donghyun to start nervously biting his nails.
“Having dating experience is not a bad thing, just tell us whether you have any or not,” Hee Jun then further questioned.
This time four members could be seen raising their hands: Donghyun, Minwoo, Youngmin, and of course Jeongmin.
Even fellow Boyfriend members were surprised to see Minwoo raise his hand. “I don’t think this is right, always in interviews, and even to me personally Minwoo has never mentioned anything,” Donghyun said.
Minwoo then went on to reveal that he dated a classmate for about 70-80 days in the 6th grade, but he never managed to kiss her, “I did want to but I didn’t have the courage back then.”
The MCs moved on to question Jeongmin. “From what point do I have to describe it?” he asked, impressing the studio with the seriousness of the relationship.
“Start from back then, back when you had that fight, and made up, kissed, and went on a vacation together…”
Member Hyunseong could be seen blushing at the MC’s description. “This brought back memories of what Jeongmin has told me about his relationship,” he explained. “As I’ve never dated myself, I’ve sometimes asked how it feels like from Donghyun and Jeongmin who have experience in it.”
“It was in the 10th grade. She was a year older than me,” Jeongmin then revealed about his past girlfriend.
“Do you still keep in touch?”
“No, she met someone else,” he sadly nodded.
“While you were dating?” “She cheated on you?”
Jeongmin continued to nod. ”It was my first love. After that I started to keep a distance from girls,” he concluded the sad love story.
Youngmin’s part was edited out of the broadcast, although previously in an episode of ‘Wonder Boy’ he claimed to have
never felt true love, meaning it was probably not interesting enough to air. But Youngmin’s dating experience must have been more real than Minwoo’s, as also in that episode Donghyun could be heard
wondering, “How many of us here have never been in a relationship? Three?”
Donghyun also
talked about his first love on ‘Wonder Boy’, how he first fell for her in a food place he often visited with his high school friends, how he nervously asked her phone number and started frequently texting with her. They dated for a time, but she occasionally didn’t show up for their dates and ignored him, which led to them eventually breaking up. “I sometimes still think about her,” Donghyun confessed.
Hyunseong denied having dating experience on ‘Wonder Boy’ as well. “He went to a boys only middle school, a boys only high school, and then started training to be an idol,” Minwoo explained.
“Even though I’ve gone to co-ed schools, I’ve also never managed to date anyone,” member Kwangmin also stated.
“I’ve only experienced a one-sided love,” Minwoo then said, probably having the same 6th grade girl in mind.
